You Know You've Been Making A Lot of Jewelry When...

The Cranford Street Fair was a success!  Thanks to everyone that came out and supported me and to all those that bought jewelry!  It was nice to see some friends, family, and repeat customers!
But now... the aftermath...  Beads everywhere.  I was busy before the fair making all kinds of new stuff.  Time to clean up the work space.

So, I Have a Thing for Llamas...

Tonight, I will be going to the Hunterdon County 4-H Fair in New Jersey.  Not sure how much inspiration I'll be able to pull from this, well, event, but you never know.  I am, however, a giant sucker for animals, specifically farm animals.  I don't know why.  I will stop on the side of the road to say hi to cows and goats.  True story.  Here are some photos I took a couple years ago at the 4-H Fair.

Off to the fair we go!

Get On the Neon

Neon colors make me instantly happy.  They are bright, cheerful, and remind me of my childhood.  But you don't need to pull out your old slap bracelets to find the perfect pop.  Wear a grown up, modern version of the neon trend, just in time for the end of summer.  Plus, these pieces will take you right into fall.

You CAN Wear that Statement Necklace... No More Excuses

Recently, a friend of mine picked up a bold statement necklace and said, "I wish I could pull this off."  I told her she could.  She then gave the excuse that she didn't have anything to wear it with.  Ugh, I hate hearing that.  Anyone can wear big costume jewelry, you just have to own it.   The greatest thing about costume jewelry is that it can dress up the simplest outfit.   Even if you're a T-shirt kind of gal (or guy), throw on a big necklace and a stack of bangles, and you instantly look polished.

Here, I've paired two of my bracelets together.  The large mother-of-pearl ring was one that I found at a flea market for my grandmother.  I've paired it with a vintage silver and turquoise poison ring.

Who says you're ever too old for hearts?  I created this necklace with Vintage Wood and Acrylic beads.    Your jewelry doesn't always have to be so serious.

I also don't think that you need to spend a fortune on your wardrobe.  You should always invest in items that you will wear all the time that will become staples in your closet, like good ol' jeans.  But with so many retailers that offer great fashion at even better price points, why bother spending a fortune to create a style that is all your own?

Last week, I dropped by the lovely Heather Bleu Home shop in Doylestown, PA, to bring by some new pieces.  My kids jewelry has made it's debut!

Here are more photos of my pieces on display... Perfect!  Thanks, Tara!

I can not believe that it is already August.  That means that summer is slowly coming to an end, and we will be back to chunky sweaters and riding boots before you know it.

But, in the last lazy days of summer, before you say so long to BBQs and beach getaways, pair layers of beads with an easy maxi dresses for an effortless but polished look...

...or, wear one big bold piece that will dress up any outfit.

Nothing says summer quite like the easiness of bohemian style.  How to get the look with just one accessory?  Simple.  Just add feathers.
