Recently, a friend of mine picked up a bold statement necklace and said, "I wish I could pull this off." I told her she could. She then gave the excuse that she didn't have anything to wear it with. Ugh, I hate hearing that. Anyone can wear big costume jewelry, you just have to own it. The greatest thing about costume jewelry is that it can dress up the simplest outfit. Even if you're a T-shirt kind of gal (or guy), throw on a big necklace and a stack of bangles, and you instantly look polished.
Here, I've paired two of my bracelets together. The large mother-of-pearl ring was one that I found at a flea market for my grandmother. I've paired it with a vintage silver and turquoise poison ring.
Who says you're ever too old for hearts? I created this necklace with Vintage Wood and Acrylic beads. Your jewelry doesn't always have to be so serious.
I also don't think that you need to spend a fortune on your wardrobe. You should always invest in items that you will wear all the time that will become staples in your closet, like good ol' jeans. But with so many retailers that offer great fashion at even better price points, why bother spending a fortune to create a style that is all your own?
